The muscle-bound superstar has just starred in Almost Ever since he rose to fame as Khal Drogo on HBO’s Game of Thrones, the actor has been a presence in front of and behind the camera with his steely eyes. He’s likeable and I hope Hollywood does him good by offering more differentiated roles in the future. When Fast X hits theaters, take a look at Jason Momoa’s best action movies yet.

Conan the Barbarian (2011)

Momoa as Conan the Barbarian makes so much sense, and it’s a hell of a shame no one bothered to stop by to see his magnetic take on the character in Marcus Nispel’s 2011 remake. Granted, it’s not preferably Movie. It’s ridiculous and incredibly graphic, but also a lot of fun in a cheesy way.

Momoa flaunts his stuff and looks great with a sword at home cutting through bad guys with his huge sword. His appearance tends towards the serious and brooding side. However, he still packs a decent punch and masters the screen as a legendary warrior, which is why he tops our list of the best Jason Momoa action movies. Maybe next time someone will give him a smarter script.

Aquaman (2018)

James Wan’s Aquaman might not be DC’s best offering. It’s still a colorful adventure, though, enhanced by splashy CGI and Momoa’s gritty charm. The actor brings a refreshing and charismatic presence to the character of Arthur Curry, with his muscular physique perfectly capturing Aquaman’s strength and power. The film also infuses it with a bit of emotional complexity as it grapples with his destiny as the true heir to the throne of Atlantis.

While Wan occasionally allows the zany visuals to overwhelm his narrative and probably spends a little too much time on underwater naval battles, Momoa is always likable. Like a true king, he carries the superhero vehicle on his strong shoulders.

Fast X

Having just seen Fast X in theaters, I feel compelled to add it to this list. It offers Momoa’s best performance and is an action film of the highest order. Momoa absolutely loves playing Dante Reyes, the flamboyant, angry son of Hernan Reyes, easily the most memorable villain Dom’s crew has ever faced. Part madman, part comedian, Dante enjoys torturing his victims. He spends his afternoons talking to dead bodies and finding new ways to screw up Dom’s life.

Momoa levitates like a butterfly and stings like a bee; His infectious energy gripped the entire production and brought a fresh feel to Fast and Furious. I can’t wait to see more of this guy. Oh, and yes, the film is a wild, ambitious action extravaganza that will have you cheering, laughing, rolling your eyes and gnashing your teeth. This is a 2-hour version of this 3D attraction from Universal Studios. If you can take the cheese, there’s plenty to enjoy here, which is why it easily makes our list of the best Jason Momoa action movies.

Dune (2021)

i love dunes It’s a science fiction masterpiece. An outstanding cinematic achievement at the highest level. Its only flaw is that it’s missing an ending and just wraps it up. Obviously, the story continues in Dune 2. Still, after nearly three hours of intense exposure, expect some sort of explosive result. Anyway, everything before that is epic. From the spectacular production design to the incredible special effects, great acting and exciting action, Dune delivers. Momoa plays Duncan Idaho, Paul Atreides’ adventurous sidekick.

Once again, the actor almost steals the show with his effortless charm. Duncan is one of those guys who walks into a room and immediately grabs everyone’s attention. He’s fearless, cunning, brave, and masters the art of, well, everything. Momoa’s role is limited and ends too soon for my liking. Regardless, during his brief screen tenure, Momoa kicks ass and proves why he deserves more blockbusters.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021)

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is my favorite Jason Momoa action film. I love this four hour superhero epic, a rich blend of drama, emotion and incredible action. There aren’t many comic book movies that can match Snyder’s colossal scope or beautifully crafted imagery.

Momoa returns as Aquaman, although his performance here is more down-to-earth and brash. He is a bitter misfit struggling with his purpose in life and suffering from past mistakes. When prompted, he can throw a nasty trident, but the character is also broken and in search of meaning. Luckily, he joins Batman, Superman, Flash, Wonder Woman and Cyborg to take on Steppenwolf, a savage villain bent on conquering the world in Darkseid’s name. The results are spectacular and that’s why it makes our list of the best Jason Momoa action movies.
