Hulu Schedule May 15-21: New Series and Movies

The Hulu schedule for May 15-21 features an intriguing remake of a 1992 film and other new additions to the streaming service this week.

On Friday, May 19th, Hulu will add White Men Can’t Jump to its streanubg library. The 2023 remake is directed by Calmatic, who rose to fame for directing the hit Lil Nas X music video “Old Town Road” in 2019. Kenya Barris and Doug Hall wrote the screenplay for the film along with Barris and his Khalabo Ink Society banner producing. Executive producers include Blake Griffin, Ryan Kalil and Noah Weinstein.

Starring alongside rapper Jack Harlow are Sinqua Walls, Teyana Taylor, Laura Harrier and Vince Staples. It will also be one of the last films starring Lance Reddick after the actor’s death.

“White Men Can’t Jump is a modern retelling of the iconic 1992 film that celebrates Los Angeles streetball culture,” reads the synopsis. “Sinqua Walls stars as Kamal, a once-promising player who ruined his future in the sport, and multi-platinum rap superstar Jack Harlow makes his film debut as Jeremy, a former star of the sport whose injuries ended his own career. “As they juggle difficult relationships, financial pressures and serious inner conflicts, the two partners – opposites who seem miles apart – find that they may have more in common than they thought possible.”
