Heretic: Hugh Grant talks about starring in next A24 horror film

This would be Grant’s first horror project in three decades since 1993’s Night Train to Venice. Five years earlier, he also starred in Ken Russell’s The Lair of the White Worm.

What is Heretic about?

Heretic is written and directed by Beck and Woods. The filmmaking duo recently collaborated on the Adam Driver-directed sci-fi thriller 65. Beck and Woods also served as executive producers on 20th Century Studios’ (now in theaters) film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Boogeyman.

The project is reportedly set to follow the story of “two religious young women who become involved in a game of cat and mouse in the home of an eccentric man.”

Most recently, Grant starred in the surprise blockbuster Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves from Paramount Pictures. He will next be seen in Warner Bros. The musical prequel Wonka follows the origins of the eponymous chocolate factory owner from Roald Dahl’s 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Regimeā€ to be seen.
