The Hollywood Reporter brings the news that Fantastic Beasts graduate Callum Turner has been selected for Nia DaCosta’s upcoming film hedda.

In addition to Hewson and Turner, the Ibsen adaptation will also be directed by Tessa Thompson, who will play the title role. The character has been played by Ingrid Bergman, Isabelle Huppert, Jane Fonda, Cate Blanchett, and other notable actors.

Turner is best known for his role as Theseus Scamander on Warner Bros. Fantastic Beasts Movies. His other notable projects include Green Room, Victor Frankenstein, Assassin’s Creed, and Emma. He will next be seen in George Clooney’s next directorial project The Boys in the Boat and the Apple TV+ series Masters of the Air.

What to expect in Hedda

Hedda is written and directed by Marvels filmmaker Nia DaCosta, who reunites with Thompson after working on DaCosta’s feature debut Little Woods. Ibsen’s 1891 play centers on a general’s daughter caught in an unwanted marriage.

The project is being produced by DaCosta, Thompson and Gabrielle Nadig, with Kishori Rajan and Michael Constable serving as executive producers. It comes from MGM’s Orion Pictures and Plan B.
