Footage from the ongoing Cannes Film Festival has recently leaked online showing legendary actor Harrison Ford getting emotional during a film Standing ovation for Indiana Jones 5.

“Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate” celebrated its world premiere on Thursday at the legendary film festival. After the film ended, the audience stood and applauded – as is customary in Cannes – leading to a standing ovation from the Indiana Jones 5. As Ford stood up to thank them, he could be seen getting emotional during the reception, which reportedly lasted about five minutes diversity.

In addition to the film’s premiere in Cannes, Ford was also honored there. The actor received the Palme d’Or for lifetime achievement at the festival. “This touches me deeply … I’m so grateful to be able to work with artists like Jim, Phoebe and Mads and I’m deeply touched by this honor,” Ford said (via THR).

What is Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny about?

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is once again led by Harrison Ford, who reprises one of his most famous roles as the eponymous explorer. Starring alongside him is Emmy and Golden Globe winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The last part also introduces the other franchise newcomers Antonio Banderas, Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook and Shaunette Renée Wilson.

The highly anticipated film will be directed by Academy Award nominee James Mangold (Logan) from a new screenplay co-written with Jez and John-Henry Butterworth, who previously worked on Ford vs Ferrari. Mangold took over the director’s chair after Steven Spielberg stepped down from his directing duties on the film. Despite his exit, Spielberg will remain involved in the production of the film as a producer.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel, with John Williams returning to provide voice overs for the film. The theatrical release is scheduled for June 30, 2023.
