Esposito’s role is unknown, as are most of the details about the project. However, the film will hit theaters on April 19, 2024, so more information could be arriving soon. In addition to Esposito, the film will star, among others, Kathryn Newton, Alisha Weir and Melissa Barrera.

Giancarlo Esposito is best known for his role in the hit television series Breaking Bad, in which he played villainous drug lord Gus Fring. He will next star in the 2023 animated film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, as well as 2024’s The Electric State and Megalopolis.

Who is involved in the Universal Monster Movie?

The untitled film is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. It is based on a screenplay by Stephen Shields with revisions by Guy Busick. William Sherak, Paul Neinstein and James Vanderbilt are producing with Radio Silence’s Chad Villella for Project X Entertainment.

Further details about the characters and the plot of the project are not yet known. However, the untitled monster movie was initially titled Dracula’s Daughter. The story revolves around a group of kidnappers kidnapping a group of young people. However, one of the victims is the eponymous bloodsucker.

Universal Pictures intends to give the project the same treatment as classic monster reboots like Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man and Chris McKay’s Renfield. The studio plans to deliver “a unique take on the legendary monster story.”

The untitled film will be part of Universal’s growing list of upcoming creature features. These include Elizabeth Banks’ Invisible Woman, the Ryan Gosling-directed Wolfman film, the James Wan-produced Van Helsing film, and Chloe Zhao’s sci-fi western Dracula film.
