Gen V Prime Video release date for spin-off series The Boys revealed

The Gen V Prime Video release date was revealed for the highly anticipated spin-off series The Boys.

What is the Gen V Prime Video release date?

Gen V is set to premiere on Prime Video this September, according to a short video posted to Twitter through the streaming platform account. A short section of the video includes a clip from the show that simply reads, “New series. Gen V September.”

You can see the video in the following tweet:

“Set at America’s only college exclusively for young superheroes (directed by Vought International), Gen V is an irreverent R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive superheroes as they push their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries.” The test is to compete in the best cities for the best contracts,” reads the summary. “It’s part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire and hilarity of The Boys.”

Gen V is loosely inspired by the G-Men, a parody of the X-Men from The Boys comic book series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. It stars Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas and Marco Pigossi. Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles also confirmed that he will be making cameo appearances alongside other cast members from The Boys in the college-set spin-off.

Gen V is executive produced by showrunners Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters. Executive Producers are Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Craig Rosenberg, Zak Schwartz, Erica Rosbe, Michaela Starr, and Brant Engelstein.

The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television Studios and Amazon Studios in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Gray Pictures and Original Film. Loreli Alanís is the executive director for Point Gray Pictures.
