The highly anticipated third season of Netflix The Witcher is coming up and before the show star Freya Allan says that Ciri will go on an emotional journey in the new season.
In an interview with Netflix Ahead of The Witcher season 3 release, Allan spoke about Ciri’s mindset in the new season. According to the actress, Ciri will be on an “emotional journey” in Season 3 and will grow up as the season progresses.
“It’s a really emotional journey for Ciri and her development,” Allan said. “At the beginning of this season she feels like a young teenager and by the end she’s really grown up.”
As for her skills, Ciri will continue to grow in that regard as well. Allan specifically mentioned that Ciri wants to learn magic, but that she gets frustrated and “feels so hopeless about it” at times.
“Ciri wants to be able to learn magic. She’s starting to get frustrated because it makes her feel so hopeless,” Allan said. “Actually, she doubts herself in every way.”
What do we know about Season 3 of The Witcher?
The Witcher Season 3 Volume 1, which will contain episodes one through five, is slated for release on June 29 on the platform. After that, volume 2, which consists of episodes six to eight, will be released on July 27th.

The upcoming third season of The Witcher will be Henry Cavill’s last as the actor will leave the series and Liam Hemsworth will replace him in the role of Geralt of Rivia. However, Cavill will apparently get a “heroic farewell” in season three.
Based on the stories and novels by Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher is created and produced by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who also serves as showrunner. Sean Daniel and Jason Brown of the Sean Daniel Company are executive producers, along with Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko of Platige Image.
