What can you expect from Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie?

“The terrifying horror gaming phenomenon becomes a chilling cinematic event when Blumhouse brings Five Nights at Freddy’s to the big screen,” reads the synopsis. “The film follows a concerned security officer who starts working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. As he spends his first night on the job, he realizes that making the night shift at Freddy’s isn’t going to be easy.”

Five Nights at Freddy’s is directed by Emma Tammi from a screenplay she co-wrote with game developer Scott Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback. The adaptation stars Matthew Lillard (Scream), Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games), Piper Rubio (Holly & Ivy), Mary Stuart Masterson (Some Kind of Wonderful), Elizabeth Lail (You) and Kat Conner Sterling (A week away). .

The original Five Nights at Freddy’s game challenges players to survive five nights as a security guard at a zany pizza entertainment restaurant where murderous, obsessive animatronics roam the halls in search of their next victims. The series spawned several sequels and spin-offs.
