Fellow Travelers Teaser Trailer: Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey Lead the Showtime Miniseries

show time released the official fellow travellers teaser trailer.

The upcoming limited drama stars Golden Globe winner Matt Bomer and Bridgerton breakthrough Jonathan Bailey. This teaser gives viewers a glimpse into the decades-long romance of leads Bomer and Bailey as they find love at a dark time in American history. The series will debut this fall on Paramount+ with Showtime.

What is “Fellow Travelers” about?

Fellow Travelers is based on the Thomas Mallon novel of the same name and was created by Ron Nyswaner. Leading the series is Bomer as the charismatic Hawkins Fuller “who pursues a financially rewarding career behind the scenes in politics” and Bailey as Tim Laughlin as “a young man filled with idealism and religious belief.” They will be joined by Jelani Alladin (The Walking Dead World Beyond), Allison Williams (Get Out, Girls) and Noah J. Ricketts (American Gods).

“The series is an epic love story and political thriller that follows the secret romance of two very different men who meet in McCarthy-era Washington,” reads the synopsis. “They begin a romance just as Joseph McCarthy and Roy Cohn are declaring war on ‘subversives and sexual deviants,’ ushering in one of the darkest periods in 20th-century American history. Over the course of four decades, we follow our five main characters – Hawk, Tim, Marcus (Alladin), Lucy (Williams) and Frankie (Ricketts) – as their paths cross through the 1960s Vietnam War protests, drugs and drug-related crimes. fueled the disco hedonism of the 1970s and the AIDS crisis of the 1980s, all while confronting obstacles in the world and within themselves.”

Fellow Travelers are executive produced by Bomer, Nyswaner, Robbie Rogers, Dee Johnson and Daniel Minahan, with the latter also directing the first two episodes. It comes from Fremantle and Showtime.
