“Evan (Robbie Amell), an android simulant set in the near future, was created for Faye (Jordana Brewster) to replace her dead husband,” reads the film’s synopsis. “In order to fully realize all of his human traits, Evan hires Casey (Simu Liu), a brilliant global hacker whose mission is to remove all the limitations that govern simulaters’ thinking and abilities. In doing so, he unleashes an AI riot and unleashes a government manhunt led by Agent Kessler (Sam Worthington), who will take extreme measures to stop the rise of the android machines.”

Simulant was written by Ryan Christopher Churchill and directed by April Mullen. It stars Robbie Amell, Jordana Brewster and Alicia Sanz, as well as Simu Liu and Sam Worthington. The film was produced by Tim Doiron and James van der Woerd and has a running time of 95 minutes.
