ComingSoon is looking forward to its debut Mermaid’s Lament Stills from the upcoming fantasy drama directed by GB Hajim as “Ode to Resilience Through Trauma and Fantasy.”
“Mermaid’s Lament is the story of two women who find strength in each other despite their personal struggles. The story revolves around two women: Oee (Dayva Summer Escobar), a traumatized woman who has lost her voice and may or may not be a mermaid. Your therapist, Dr. Nell Jamison (Justina Mattos), struggling with anxiety herself, tries to help Oee overcome her delusions and get in touch with reality. As they connect through their experiences, they learn to be resilient like the sea and use the power of imagination to navigate the chaos of the world.”
Mermaid’s Lament will be screened at the TCL Chinese Theater on June 25, 2023 as part of the Dances with Films Hollywood Film Festival.
