Almost two months after its successful cinema debut is the Evil Dead Rise The maximum release date for the streaming debut of the latest installment in New Line Cinema’s long-running horror series has been announced. The supernatural thriller will be available to stream exclusively on Max on June 23rd.
Since its theatrical release in April, Evil Dead Rise has met with critical and commercial acclaim, grossing over $140 million worldwide at the box office on a reported budget of around $15 million to $19 million. The fifth part is now the film with the highest grossing figures of the entire series.
What is Evil Dead Rise about?
“Shifting the action from the forest to the city, Evil Dead Rise tells a twisted tale of two estranged sisters whose reunion is interrupted by the advent of flesh-possessed demons, throwing them into a primal struggle for survival while confronting fate in ‘The Most Nightmarish Version family you could imagine,” reads the film’s synopsis.
Evil Dead Rise also stars Alyssa Sutherland (Vikings) and Lily Sullivan (Picnic at Hanging Rock), as well as Gabrielle Echols (Reminiscence), Morgan Davies (The Girlfriend Experience) and Nell Fisher ( North Spur”). The film is written and directed by Lee Cronin (“The Hole In The Ground”), who was handpicked by franchise creators Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Robert Tapert. The executive producers are Raimi, Campbell, Tapert, Romel Adam, John Keville and Macdara Kelleher.
