HBO’s drama boss has hinted as much Euphoria season 3 release date. But there’s a catch: the series isn’t expected to appear for at least two years.
When is Euphoria season 3 release date?
In a recent profile for meeting, HBO drama director Francesca Orsi was asked about the status of Euphoria. Orsi said that between creator Sam Levinson’s other HBO series, The Idol, and the ongoing strike, Euphoria’s third season likely won’t debut until 2025.
“Euphoria is one of the ones that we started writing along with the post-production of Idol, but we don’t have a ton of scripts as of this writing,” Orsi said of the Euphoria season 3 release date. “We are unable to start filming so delivery of this show – ideally in 2025 – will depend on when we can move forward with Sam, who at this point has all his pins lowered and is just finishing his contributions to Idol.”
This isn’t the first time Euphoria has experienced a long delay between seasons. After the series premiered in 2019, the second season airing was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Season 2 finally premiered in 2022, but now it looks like Season 3 might last even longer due to other circumstances. Deadline clues include Zendaya’s busy schedule, which has since become a superstar.
Based on the Israeli series of the same name, Euphoria follows a group of high school seniors as they struggle to navigate the worlds of drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love and friendship.
It features an ensemble cast that includes Zendaya in the lead role of Rue. The series also stars Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Barbie Ferreira, Storm Reid, Sydney Sweeney, Algee Smith, Jacob Elordi, Austin Abrams, Eric Dane and Nika King. Javon Walton and Dominic Fike join the new season.
