Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Sneak Peek Introduces Yasmin Finney’s Role

A new sneak peek from the upcoming Doctor Who 60th anniversary special has been released, introducing Yasmin Finney’s character as Rose Noble. 

The clip from the upcoming show’s first episode, “The Star Beast,” shows Rose trying to hide the Meep from her mother, Donna Noble (Catherine Tate). Rose will be the Fourteenth Doctor’s loyal companion, which will be portrayed by returning star David Tennant.

The upcoming fourteenth season of the popular television series, which is scheduled to debut on Disney+ on December 25, will feature Sex Education’s Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor. It will come after the release of Tennant’s Doctor Who specials, which will consist of three episodes, including “Blue Yonder” and “The Giggle.” 

Joining Tennant, Tate, and Finney are Jacqueline King as Sylvia Noble, Karl Collins as Shaun Temple, Ruth Madeley as Shirley Ann Bingham, and Neil Patrick Harris as the Toymaker.

What is Doctor Who about? 

Doctor Who follows the adventures of the Doctor — also called the Time Lord — whose appearance and personality may vary with each regeneration. Throughout the franchise’s decades-long existence on television, it has seen a slew of actors portraying the Doctor, including Tennant, Peter Capaldi, Matt Smith, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, William Hartnell, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston,  Jodie Whittaker, and Gatwa as the newest incarnation. 

Doctor Who 60th anniversary special will air on November 25 on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the U.K., and the rest of the world can stream it through Disney+.
