After a backlash over the planned removal meeting reports that Disney has stated that the documentary “Howard” will remain on duty. The documentary chronicles the life of famed gay Disney lyricist Howard Ashman and his integral role in the creation of some of the company’s most memorable songs in the ’90s.

The timing of the proposed removal drew backlash as this month’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid features much of Ashman’s writing, while LGBTQ+ Pride Month is scheduled to begin on June 1.

“The list of titles coming to Hulu and Disney+ next week is still being finalized,” a Disney representative told the outlet. This response suggests more content may be added to or removed from the list before things start removing from the streamer on May 26th.

During the same conference call that originally announced the removals, the company announced that it would be adding Hulu content to Disney+ by the end of the year to create a “one-app experience,” albeit in some regions where Hulu isn’t available, Hulu’s programming is already available on Disney+ under the star banner.
