Disney+ is releasing 28 newly restored classic animated shorts

Disney announced that 28 newly restored classic animated shorts will be available on Disney+ in July this year.

Short films selected include Silly Symphony classics and various cartoons featuring characters such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. The Walt Disney Studios restoration and conservation team, led by Kevin Schaeffer, led the restoration along with Disney legends such as Eric Goldberg.

“We are thrilled to be working with Kevin Schaeffer and the studio’s restoration team to bring you these beautifully restored versions of classic Disney animated shorts,” said Dorothy McKim, Producer, Special Projects and 2D Animation. “Two of our finest artistic talents brought their expertise and passion to the project to ensure the films look their best and are authentic to the creative intentions of the original filmmakers. We are so excited to share these wonderful short films with the Disney+ audience. They’ve never looked or sounded better.”
