When is Coraline coming to the cinema?

The film opens in theaters on Monday, August 14 at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. local time and Tuesday, August 15 at 7:00 p.m. local time at Fathom Events, LAIKA and Park Circus.

The 2009 stop-motion animated dark fantasy horror film will be released with never-before-seen footage. Experience an up-close and personal return to the worlds of Coraline with key members of the LAIKA creative filmmaking team as you explore through unique behind-the-scenes stories, key artifacts, puppets and costumes from the groundbreaking stop-motion animated film.

Coraline features stunning stop-motion animation, hand-crafted puppets and meticulously designed sets – freshly recolored and remastered for 2023. “Based on the novel by popular author Neil Gaiman, Coraline is a wondrous, exciting, fun and suspenseful adventure. ‘ it says in the synopsis. “A young girl walks through a secret door in her new home and discovers an alternative version of her life. On the surface, this parallel reality is eerily similar to her real life – only much better. But when this miraculously unbalanced fantastical adventure turns dangerous and her fake parents try to keep her forever, Coraline must use her ingenuity, determination and courage to save her family and return home.”

Coraline was written and directed by stop-motion writer Henry Selick (Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach). Starring Dakota Fanning, Ian McShane, Teri Hatcher, Keith David and British comedy duo Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders Animation from award-winning studio LAIKA (ParaNorman, The Boxtrolls).
