Will Donald Glover star in the community film?
McHale spoke to Kelly Ripa about the community film on her podcast. Let’s talk off camera. During the discussion, the actor confirmed Glover would be back.
“Donald is coming back and that’s really important,” McHale explained (via Weekly entertainment). “The fact that Donald is going to do it, that was the big part. But I think everyone is coming back. I mean we’re pretty good so far. And I think that will happen. If not, then Donald will be there.”
Since the community film was announced, there have been several hints that Donald Glover might reprise the role of Troy Barnes, although this represents the most concrete confirmation of the star’s return yet. Production of the film is currently on hold due to the ongoing writers’ strike.
Community completed its acclaimed six-season run in 2015 after traversing multiple networks. Since then, the series has continued to gain popularity through streaming services like Netflix, resulting in a Zoom cast reunion It featured the entire main cast outside of Chevy Chase in 2020.
