Accordingly meetingStar Wars veterinarian Daisy Ridley has signed on to star in Casino Royale director Martin Campbell’s upcoming action thriller titled cleanser. Production is expected to start in late summer of this year.
“Cleaner is a suspenseful thriller, unique and original in both its characters and its setting. A lot of the film is set on the side of the Shard – hundreds of feet up in the air – and I want the audience to be up there with Joey in a dizzying experience,” Campbell said in a statement. “There is no actress more instinctive and powerful than Daisy right now to help us do this. Most of my films have been thrillers and Cleaner is one of the best I’ve read.”
What can you expect from the cleaner?
Martin Campbell is directing Cleaner. Ridley is set to portray Joey Locke, a former soldier-turned-window-washer who finds himself in the midst of a terrorist attack. The project is produced by Sebastien Raybaud and Callum Grant, Anton financed and produced.
“Set in contemporary London, the film follows radical activists as they take over an energy company’s annual gala at the Shard – Western Europe’s tallest skyscraper – and seize 300 hostages to expose the hosts’ corruption,” reads the synopsis.
“Their righteous cause is being hijacked by a zealous extremist from their ranks who is willing to assassinate everyone in the building to send his anarchic message to the world. Joey Locke, a former soldier-turned-window-washer suspended 90 stories from the outside of the building, is tasked with rescuing those trapped inside and bringing down the killers while finding a way out to corrupt the energy moguls to bring to court. ”
Ridley is no stranger to action. The actress previously directed Lucasfilm’s Star Wars sequel trilogy and the 2021 film adaptation of Chaos Walking. It was recently announced that Ridley will reprise her role as Rey in an untitled Star Wars film directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. The project will reportedly take place 15 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker and follow Rey as she forges a new Jedi order.
