What to expect at Challengers
Challengers is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Luca Guadagnino from a screenplay by Justin Kuritzkes. It stars Emmy-winner Zendaya as Tashi Donaldson-Duncan, West Side Story breakthrough Mike Faist as Art Donaldson, and Golden Globe-winner Josh O’Connor as Patrick Zweig.
“Zendaya’s Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy-turned-coach and an unapologetic force of nature for her play on and off the court,” reads the synopsis. “Tashi is married to a champion who’s on a losing streak, and her strategy to redeem her husband takes a surprising turn when he faces the downtrodden Patrick – his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend. As her past and present collide and tensions mount, Tashi must ask herself: What will it cost to win?”
The film is executive produced by Bernard Bellew and produced by Guadagnino and Amy Pascal. There will also be music by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. This is Zendaya’s latest collaboration with Pascal, having worked together in the Tom Holland-directed Spider-Man films.
