“The first day was so intimidating,” Mackie revealed. “I was so damn nervous I couldn’t remember my lines. He’s Harrison, damn Ford. He’s got that aura. But he brushes that off very quickly because he’s such a cool guy. He’s everything a movie star should be. He’d say, “Let’s shoot this piece of shit.” And everyone was like, “Yeah, let’s shoot this shit … We spent a lot of time together.” Ross and Cap have always had this relationship where they were friends and each other respected, but they always bumped heads. That is their relationship in the story.”
Captain America: Brave New World is directed by Julius Onah from a screenplay by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier executive writer Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson. The film stars Anthony Mackie in his role as Sam Wilson, who has now officially landed the role of the MCU’s new Captain America. He is joined by returning Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Danny Ramirez and Carl Lumbly, who reprise the roles of Joaquin Torres and Isaiah Bradley, respectively.
In addition, The Incredible Hulk stars Tim Blake Nelson and Liv Tyler will also reprise their roles as Marvel villains Samuel Sterns/Leader and Betty, 15 years after the Edward Norton-led film’s theatrical debut. New World Order will also introduce MCU newcomers Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Ross and Shira Haas as Sabra, with Xosha Roquemore and Seth Rollins in undisclosed roles.
