Director Bryan Singer is attempting a comeback of sorts after a litany of allegations were leveled at the director. Singer is working on three independent films and a documentary about himself.
According to a recent report by diversity, Singer is in the process of finding funding for three narrative films set in and around Israel, where the director has reportedly lived for a number of years. Singer has met with various investors to back the films, one of which Variety says is set in the 1970s.
All three projects would cost about $10 million per film and will be produced by Jason Taylor, former production president of Singer’s Bad Hat Harry Prods., the report said.
Perhaps even more surprising is the fact that Singer is reportedly working on a self-financed documentary “about himself and his struggles.” According to the report, Singer will deal with the numerous sexual misconduct allegations against him. The film will be part of the filmmaker’s attempt to make a career comeback.
Singer hasn’t been in the Hollywood spotlight for a while, according to a 2019 report The Atlantic It contained a whole series of allegations against him. In the report, four people allege that Singer had various sexual encounters with teenagers during his time in Hollywood, including one allegation of rape. Singer has also settled a 2017 lawsuit filed by Cesar Sanchez-Guzman in 2019 alleging that Singer sexually assaulted him during a 2003 party in Seattle.
