in one diversity In the interview, Fishel, Friedle and Rider Strong looked back on their experiences producing Boy Meets World. Towards the end of the play, Fishel and Friedle revealed that Savage had “disappeared” from their lives and hadn’t communicated with them in three years.
“He just disappeared from our lives,” Fishel remarked. “We were just so, so close, especially during this time. He checked in with me regularly… He ghosted us.”
“He disappeared — I wish I still knew why,” Friedle said. “We didn’t have a fight. There is no falling out. There was no animosity. One day he just woke up and decided I didn’t want that person in my life anymore… I ended up texting that said, “I’ve known you for 30 years, what’s up?” I said, “I’ll be you.” call every day until you tell me not to call you anymore.” That lasted about three weeks or a month, every single day.”
Fishel explained that Pod meets world The podcast with Friedle and Strong has taught her that “everyone is on their own journey” and that she doesn’t think that would be the end of her story with Savage.
“If this podcast has taught me anything, it’s that everyone is on their own journey and has their own experiences, which can be perceived in different ways depending on your point of view,” the actress said. “Speaking for myself, Ben and I may be estranged at the moment and we may have our grievances at each other, but I will always love Ben and want the best for him. I don’t think this is the end of our story – but time will tell.”
First released in 1993, Boy Meets World was about smart 11-year-old Cory Matthews and his family and friends. The series ran for seven seasons and received a 2014 sequel titled Girl Meets World. Fishel, Friedle and Strong began rewatching the series while discussing their time on the show for their Pod Meets World podcast in 2022.
