After a little over a month at the box office, Peacock’s Focus Features release date is set. Book Club: The Next Chapter was announced. The star-studded film will be available to stream exclusively on Peacock this Friday, June 30th.
Book Club: The Next Chapter was not a box office hit, as the film only grossed $27 million at the worldwide box office, which is $70 million less than its predecessor’s grossing.
What is Book Club 2 about?
“It’s about our four best friends, Diane, Vivian, Sharon and Carol, who take their book club to Italy for a fun girls’ trip they never had,” reads the synopsis. “When things get out of hand and secrets are revealed, your relaxing vacation turns into a once-in-a-lifetime cross-country adventure.”
The sequel will again be directed by Bill Holderman from a screenplay he co-wrote with Erin Simms. The legendary quartet will be joined by returning cast members Andy Garcia, Don Johnson and Craig T. Nelson. The cast also includes newcomers Giancarlo Giannini, Hugh Quarshie and Vincent Riotta.
Book Club: The Next Chapter is produced by Holderman and Simms, with Brad Weston, Trish Hofmann, Enzo Sisti and Andrew Duncan serving as executive producers.
