What do we know about Wes Anderson’s next movie?

Talking to a French outlet Le Monde (above world of role), Anderson briefly teased his next film, which he says will be “about espionage” and a father-daughter relationship, and also have a dark tone. Most importantly, Anderson said, the film will star Benicio del Toro, who the director says will be in “every shot” of the film.

“My next feature film will be linear, with Benicio del Toro in every take,” Anderson said. “I can’t tell you much more, except that it’s about espionage, about a father-daughter relationship, and with, shall we say, a rather somber tone.”

Anderson and del Toro have a brief history of working together, with the actor starring in Anderson’s final film, The French Dispatch, in one of the anthology’s stories. In the film, del Toro played Moses Rosentahler, an artist who is imprisoned and begins a romance with warden Simone (played by Léa Seydoux).

Although not much is known about Anderson’s next film, it was reported earlier this year that Michael Cera has already been cast in the film. Next up for Anderson is The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, a short film based on the short story of the same name in Roald Dahl’s 1977 collection The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Six More. This project is slated to release on Netflix sometime this year.
