Behind-the-scenes photos give fans a first look at Winona Ryder’s return as Lydia Deetz. Ryder returns after more than three decades since the original Tim Burton film. The actress is set to play the lead role Wednesdayis Jenna Ortega, who will play Lydia’s teenage daughter.

What awaits you in Beetlejuice 2?

Beetlejuice 2 is again directed by Tim Burton. This marks Burton’s comeback as a feature film director, four years after he directed Disney’s live-action adaptation dumbo. After initially collaborating on Netflix’s Wednesday series, scream VI Star Jenna Ortega reunites with Burton.

Ortega will be joined by returning stars Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara. The sequel also introduces new characters in the form of Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe. The project has now been in development for more than three decades, with initial plans to play the sequel in Hawaii. More details about the new plot are still under wraps.
