Beast Boy Shorts Announced by Cartoon Network

During the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Warner Bros. Discovery announced a new animated series focusing on the theme Teen Titans go! character beast boy.

What is the new Beast Boy series about?

According to the company, the series will focus on “Beast Boy’s standalone adventures” and will be directed by Rhys Byfield (Elliott From Earth).

The series will consist of 10 short films and will air on Cartoon Network at some point in the future. Although not too much was announced, a still was shown and Hanna-Barbera Vice President Sarah Fell said things were “just getting started”.

According to a report by diversity Regarding the series, the short synopses still shown indicate that the series may not be identical to the crazier, lighter-hearted Teen Titans Go, but will have more of an “action” flavor.

Teen Titans go! originally premiered in 2013 and was itself based on the DC Comics superhero team. The show also served as a more comedic spin-off of the original Teen Titans animated series, which was a bit more mature in tone. The series also received a movie, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, which hit theaters in 2018.

The series is just one of many that Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed will be produced during the Annecy Festival. The company also provided some updates on the status of the highly anticipated Batman: Caped Crusader, calling it “everything Bruce Timm wanted to do to the world of Batman but couldn’t.”
