Is Jeff Loveness Still Writing Avengers: The Kang Dynasty?
In the final episode of the podcast, Sneider revealed that Loveness is “from” the upcoming Avengers movie, according to his sources, and that the decision was made before the WGA strike began earlier this month.
“That’s unconfirmed,” Sneider claimed. “My source says Jeff Loveness left from (Avengers:) The Kang Dynasty and that he left before the strike.”
Sneider was then asked if Marvel would reboot the Phase 6 film with a new writer. He confirmed that’s true, and that it sounds like the studio is “going in a different direction.”
“Yes, that’s exactly what it means,” he said. “Jeff Loveness has taken a lot of criticism for his scripts, deservedly or not, and yes, it sounds like they’re going in a different direction…as far as my source says.”
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is directed by Shang-Chi filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton, who is also currently working with Marvel Studios on the live-action series adaptation of Wonder Man. According to Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige during the panel, both new Avengers films are currently planned as final entries in Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which will begin with the introduction of the Fantastic Four into the MCU.
The film is currently slated to hit theaters on May 2, 2025, with Avengers: Secret Wars coming soon on November 7, 2025.
