Is Avatar: The Way of Water on Disney+?

After first premiering in North American theaters on December 16, the blockbuster sequel is finally streaming on Disney+. Whether you originally saw the film in theaters or have been waiting for it to come out on Disney+, Avatar: The Way of Water is now available to watch through the service, allowing audiences to pause and rewind the film at their leisure .

The sequel was directed and co-written by James Cameron. It features the return of Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald and Sigourney Weaver. Other cast members include Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Bailey Bass, Jack Champion, Britain Dalton, Jamie Flatters and more.

“Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water tells the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their children), the difficulties that haunt them, and the struggles they go to to protect each other, the struggles they fight to stay alive and the tragedies they endure,” read the official synopsis.

Avatar 3 is expected to be released on December 20th, 2024. Other sequels also have release dates, with Avatar 4 scheduled for December 18, 2026 and Avatar 5 for December 22, 2028.
