Flash director Andy Muschietti has found his next project when Warner Bros. announced he will be directing the upcoming Batman DC Universe movie The brave and the brave.
DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran both explained the choice of Andy Muschietti, saying it was an easy decision.
“We saw The Flash before we took charge of DC Studios and knew we were in the hands of a visionary director but a huge DC fan,” said Gunn and Safran meeting. “It’s a great film – funny, emotional, suspenseful – and Andy’s affinity and passion for these characters and this world resonates in every frame. When it came to finding a director for The Brave and the Bold, there really was only one choice.
“Luckily Andy said yes, Barbara signed on to produce with us and we were on our way. They are an exceptional team and we could not have better and more inspiring partners as we embark on this exciting new adventure in the DCU.”
What to expect from The Brave and the Bold
The cast of The Brave and the Bold has not yet been announced. DC Chairman James Gunn has cleared that Batman is not portrayed by Ben Affleck or Robert Pattinson in this film.
This is the third film in the DCU to have a director attached. James Gunn will direct Superman: Legacy and James Mangold will direct Swamp Thing. There is no word yet on a release date.
