Amazon Prime Video program from July 10th to 16th: New series and films will be added

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 and The King’s Speech are headlining Prime Video schedule for July 10-16.

Beginning Friday, July 14, Prime Video subscribers can watch Season 2 of The Summer I Turned Pretty. The Amazon-owned streamer will be releasing the three episodes simultaneously, followed by five more that will be released weekly through August 18, 2023. A live-action adaptation of Jenny Han’s young adult novel, The Summer I Turned Pretty, centers on a young girl named Isabel “Belly” Conklin who spends every summer at a beach house with her mother and older brother Steven. Belly has always had a crush on the Fisher boys: Conrad and Jeremiah. Everything starts to change the summer she turns sixteen.

The series stars Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, Gavin Casalegno, Sean Kaufman, Rain Spencer, David Iacono, Jackie Chung and Rachel Blanchard. Season 2 also introduces Elsie Fisher and Kyra Sedgwick in recurring roles.

On Friday, Prime Video will also add The King’s Speech to its catalogue. Released in 2010, the film tells the true story of King George VI. and his severe speech impediment. Directed by Tom Hooper and written by David Seidler, it stars Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter. The King’s Speech was a huge box office success, grossing $427 million on a production budget of $15 million. He also won four Oscars from twelve nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director for Hooper, Best Actor for Firth, and Best Original Screenplay for Seidler.
